Family tributes after street death

A GRIEVING family yesterday paid tribute to a 50-year-old man from Perthshire who died after being found seriously injured in the Whitfield area of Dundee early on Sunday.

John McMurchie, from Errol, died in the city’s Ninewells Hospital after being found in Fintry Terrace, near Whitfield Drive. His death is being treated as suspicious and a 63 year-old man has been arrested.

In a statement, issued through Tayside Police, Mr McMurchie’s family said: “As a husband, brother, father to five and grandfather to two, as well as an uncle, John was loving and very much-loved by all of his family. No words can express the loss we feel at him being taken from us so suddenly.”

They added: “We would ask that anyone who knows anything that can help Tayside Police with their investigation to contact them.”
