Family cafe to go extra Mile

A FAMILY-run cafe is set to expand by opening a new shop in the Old Town.

Mimi’s Bakehouse, based at the Shore in Leith, is opening the branch on the Royal Mile, selling treats produced in the cafe. The fourth-generation family business run by head chef Michelle Phillips and her daughter Gemma will move into the High Street during the spring.

Scott Clearie, front of house manager at the cafe, said: “The High Street is full of history and character and we hope to bring some of Mimi’s glamour to complement this.”
