Experts put their spin
on lobbying

POLITICAL lobbying is being put under the microscope by a panel of experts ahead of consultation for Scotland’s first-ever Bill on the practice.

Hosted by MSP Neil Findlay, the event featuring Unlock Democracy, the Electoral Reform Society Scotland and Spin Watch takes place in the Scottish Parliament on Thursday, October 25 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Speaking at the event will be Peter Facey, director of Unlock Democracy, Willie Sullivan, director of the Electoral Reform Society Scotland and Will Dinan, Spinwatch Scotland.

Peter Facey said: “Lobbying is a multi-million pound industry which affects our daily lives, from the healthcare we receive to the regulation of the banks. The Scottish people have the opportunity to feed directly into a public consultation and increase transparency of the relationship between businesses and Scottish
Government.”
