Elderly violence shock for staff in care homes
CARE homes have reported shocking levels of violence among elderly residents, new figures for East Lothian have revealed.
The freedom of information statistics show that Eskgreen Old People's Home in Musselburgh recorded 44 incidents and Fa'side Lodge Old People's Home in Tranent recorded 28.
An East Lothian Council spokeswoman reportedly said: "Whether it is someone being hit by a thrown cup or hit with a walking stick, it is recorded."
