Elderly theft victim, 75, dies
AN ELDERLY woman died just hours after a thief gained entry to her house and stole her purse.
Paramedics tried to save the 75-year-old, who became unwell at her home in Dundee, at about 2pm on Monday, but she died a short time after their arrival.
Police said an intruder had entered the woman’s house some time between 10:30pm on Sunday and 6:50am on Monday. A purse containing a small amount of cash and a black leather cigarette pouch were taken.
Officers at the scene spoke to the woman and she was left in the care of family members.
Tayside Police were not able to reveal how the woman died, but said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
