Education chief named

MIDLOTHIAN Council has appointed the assistant director of Education Scotland as its head of education.

Peter McNaughton, who has been headteacher at two primaries in West Lothian, is due to start his new role next month.

Mr McNaughton has worked with Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education – now Education Scotland – for the last decade. He will be on a two-year secondment from Education Scotland and will work solely for Midlothian.
