Edinburgh secures place in singing final

A YOUNG city girl has beaten the competition to secure a place in the regional final of a UK singing competition.

Jessica Nolan, ten, who lives in Duddingston, auditioned for Open Mic UK in Glasgow  earlier this month with her version of She Said by Plan B.

She made it through to the live regional showcase finals in the under-16 category, which will take place in Glasgow on October 13.

Jessica, whose dream is to appear on stage in the West End, is a member of performance school Gie it Laldy as well as Razzamataz Theatre School.
