Drunk women stole from duty free shop
TWO women who stole seven pairs of designer sunglasses from the duty free shop at Edinburgh Airport have been fined.
Jean McGovern, 42, and Annette Daniel, 47, both of Glasgow, were bound for a holiday in Turkey when they visited the World Duty Free store on 11 June.
Instead they spent a night in the cells after being caught stealing sunglasses.
At Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday both women were fined 750 after admitting stealing the glasses.
Defence solicitor, Jacqueline McColl, told Sheriff Raymond MacMenamin "drink had been taken". He said their drunken act had lost their holiday to Turkey, and spent the night in the cells.
