Doctor faces claims of 'sex with patient'
A LEADING city doctor faces disciplinary action after being accused of having sex with a patient while treating her for physical and psychological problems.
Dr Ewan Crawford, an expert in diabetes and sleep disorders, was suspended from the Murrayfield Medical Centre a year ago while a formal complaint against him was investigated.
He is to appear before a General Medical Council fitness-to-practice panel next month to answer misconduct allegations.
It understood the complaint was made by a retired detective who claims the 53-year-old doctor had sex with the man's ill wife while she was his patient. The complaint is also understood to refer to the doctor's alleged involvement in swingers' websites.
