Divers search harbour for missing Latvian fisherman

POLICE divers are searching Fraserburgh harbour for a Latvian fisherman who has been missing since Saturday.

Viktors Asitkovs, 51, was last seen in the Faithlie Street area of the Buchan town at about 11pm that night by friends.

The alarm was raised after Mr Asitkovs failed to turn up for work on the fishing boat the Willing Lad.

A Grampian Police spokesman said: “Mr Asitkovs has short grey hair and when last seen was wearing a black leather jacket, blue or grey jeans, a black T-shirt with a white emblem on the front and brown or gold shoes.”

Meanwhile, officers issued an appeal for information about a Nigerian woman, Maris Stella Enem, 28, and her two young children, staying in Aberdeen, who were last seen in the summer last year.
