Disability charity stirs interest with cafe clubs

THE Leonard Cheshire Disability charity is encouraging people to set up cafe clubs and meet to arrange fundraising activities.

Each cafe club is challenged to raise 600 a year by holding three fundraising events, with each event raising 200, or four events each raising 150.

Jo Pike, Edinburgh-based fundraising manager for Leonard Cheshire Disability in Scotland, said: "The cafe clubs are for people to come together to do something that's fun and rewarding.

"We're inviting people to set up a cafe club to meet each month in their local coffee shop to agree on fundraising activities they will undertake on behalf of Leonard Cheshire Disability in the areas where they live."

Starbucks on Lothian Road will host an information evening with free coffee and muffins on Thursday between 7:30pm and 8:30pm.

For more information on the event or to set up a cafe club, call the Leonard Cheshire Disability fundraising team on 0131 346 9040 or visit www.LCDisability.org/thecafeclub
