‘Despicable’ attack on OAP
A 76-YEAR-OLD woman was dragged along the ground by a “despicable” man trying to steal her handbag, police said.
The woman was in Clydebank Health Centre car park at around 1.25pm on Friday when the man approached her.
Strathclyde Police said he grabbed at the bag and knocked the elderly woman to the ground. He then dragged her along as she held on to her handbag. She suffered minor injuries and bruising during the assault.
The suspect was described as white, in his early 20s and between 5ft 10ins and 6ft. He has a medium build, short fair hair and was wearing a light-coloured top and trousers.
Detective Constable Iain Lobban said: “It’s unthinkable that someone would target an elderly lady in this way, the person responsible is despicable.”
