Decision time at the
Salisbury

LEADERS at the city’s oldest holistic centre are considering new management proposals ahead of its temporary closure to the public this weekend.

Trustees at the Salisbury Centre, set up in 1973, said they were deciding if two proposals tabled were compatible with its founding deed but did not rule out permanent closure of their current building, which
they said was not financially viable.

Trustees declined to comment in detail on the proposals but it is understood a decision on the centre could be made by the end of this month.

The Evening News reported in March that activities at the centre, which offers classes in activities such as yoga, meditation and pottery, would be suspended on July 14 while trustees conduct a review of options for its future.

Trustee Linda Wyman said: “If these or future proposals do not meet the required criteria then the trust may well need to find other ways to express the intention of the trust deed outwith 2 Salisbury Road.”
