Dead father's family offer loving tribute
THE family of a man who died after an assault at the weekend last night paid tribute to him.
Lothian and Borders Police yesterday named the man who died following a serious assault in Edinburgh over the weekend as 31-year-old Mark Johnston.
Officers said that Mr Johnston had been the victim of a serious assault in Haddington Place, Leith, at around 3:45am on Sunday. He died at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary at 5pm on Monday.
His family issued a statement: "Mark was the second eldest of four children and his death has been devastating to us all. He was a loving father, partner, son, brother and uncle.
"His loss in such tragic and sudden circumstances has been a shock to us all, but we hold in our hearts the happy memories of such a loving, family man."
Three people appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday in connection with the incident. Philip Graham, 19, was charged with attempted murder and breach of the peace. Paul Graham, 25, was charged with attempted murder. Both have been remanded in custody.
Natasha Fell, 21, made no plea or declaration and was granted bail with the special condition that she attends an identification parade.
