Dawe urges firms to improve links with emerging markets
CITY leader Jenny Dawe has urged businesses to improve trade links with Dubai and the Middle East.
Speaking at a meeting with businesses, she said: "Economic indicators suggest that the emerging markets will be the first to recover from the recession. Cities and countries that continue to invest for the future through the downturn will also emerge stronger.
"There is therefore a double incentive for Edinburgh to seek to strengthen its links with Dubai and the Middle East.
"It is an excellent opportunity to provide Edinburgh businesses with improved access to business in Dubai and the Emirates."
Oil-rich sovereign wealth funds have previously shown an interest in buying up chunks of Princes Street.
