Dawe hails office pre-let as ‘exceptional’
City leader Jenny Dawe has welcomed news that a company has signed up to a pre-let of a new office development at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
Investment management firm Brewin Dolphin has agreed to a deal to move into the new “Atria Edinburgh” office next to the council-owned EICC when it is completed in June 2013.
The council’s Grade A development is part of the business plan for the extension to the EICC and will help fund the work. The pre-let, in the current market where such deals are hard to secure, has been hailed as “exceptional”.
Councillor Dawe said: “Atria Edinburgh is a key development for the city. To have secured a tenant of this calibre a year ahead of completion is quite exceptional.”

Monday, February 13, 2012 at 01:18 PMIt could of course been given at a knock-down price to get the column inches. Unfortunately, our the churnalist hasn't given enough information to properly evaluate the deal.

Monday, February 13, 2012 at 12:44 PMExactly, just shifiting premises pro temp, to take advantage of special rates, keep the old premises to rent in the meantime, and move back into Drumsheigh, when the introductory offer expires. It's really v simple Ms Dawe.

Monday, February 13, 2012 at 12:32 PM#1 - Exactly. A quick Google confirms that the company is simply moving office a few streets closer into to the financial district. Quite "exceptional" indeed!

Monday, February 13, 2012 at 12:27 PMBrewin Dolphin currently have an office in Drumsheugh Gardens do they not ? If memeory serves they currently have a townhouse full. So they are moving from 20 people from one office to another one. Hardly bringing in loads of new business to Edinburgh is it ?
