Cyclist to attempt 24-hour endurance event

A CYCLIST is set to compete in a 24-hour track endurance event to raise funds for the learning disability charity
Enable Scotland.

Fraser Law, from the Gyle, has entered the Cycle the World Challenge, which will see riders race day and night around the 1.3-mile circuit at Knockhill, near Dunfermline, in a bid to travel 18,296 miles.

The 31-year-old logistics manager for Selex Galileo said: “I am myself dyslexic and although my disability is minor compared to the disabilities that can be supported by Enable Scotland I understand the importance a support network like this can provide.

“I love to challenge myself. I also like to raise money for charity. I have taken part in a relay team a couple of times for 24-hour mountain bike events. I have never had the opportunity on the road before. I have only ever heard of one before, south of the border.”

The distance he must cover is the same travelled by record-breaking round-the-world cyclist Mark Beaumont, who said: “This is a completely unique and brilliant challenge, especially as it is raising the profile and essential funds for Enable Scotland.”
