Culture clubs still thriving

DESPITE the econmomic gloom the city’s cultural organisations and attractions appear to be thriving, reporting marked increases in membership.

National heritage organisation Historic Scotland has reported an almost 50 per cent increase in its members.

The National Trust for Scotland which has seen its membership grow by nearly three per cent, while the The National Galleries of Scotland, reported a 17 per cent rise last year and the National Museums Scotland an increase of 25 per cent.
