Craighouse
deadline is
extended

A DEADLINE for comments on the controversial Craighouse Campus planning application has been extended until the New Year.

Residents originally had only until today to offer an opinion on plans for the former Napier University site, but the last date is now January 4.

The proposal is for a total of 153 units to be built on the grounds – 64 from the conversion of seven existing A-listed buildings and 89 new-builds.

More than 30 acres of land would be gifted to the city to “protect public access in perpetuity”.

Developers reduced the number of homes planned for the site in a move designed to quell critics’ fears. However, the scaled-back plans have been described by campaign group Friends of Craighouse as “diabolical”.

Those wishing to lodge a statement can do so via the city council website.
