Couple plead not guilty in assault case

A HUSBAND and wife have appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and reset.

Richard Greens, 35, and partner Lee, 32, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday.

The pair, of Penicuik, Midlothian, pleaded not guilty to a charge which alleged that either on December 12 or 13, 2011, they reset a mobile phone, a computer console and games, a handbag, aftershave and a television.

The charge alleges that all these items were appropriated by theft.

The couple also pleaded not guilty to three separate charges that they assaulted Alistair Robertson, Garry Campbell and Russell Aitken on January 1 this year at an address in
Carlops Road, Penicuik.

Sheriff Elizabeth Jarvie QC adjourned the case to another hearing which will take place at Edinburgh Sheriff Court next week.
