Count on Meadowbank, say campaigners
MEADOWBANK campaigners have welcomed news that the ageing sports complex is to be used for counting votes in this week's elections.
Meadowbank had been used for all election counts since it opened in 1970 but city leaders decided to use Ingliston as their base for the elections two years ago when the future of the stadium was a key local election issue.
Save Meadowbank spokesman Kevin Connor said: "The decision to move the count was wrong and we welcome its return.
"Meadowbank's large halls make it an ideal venue."
