Community groups welcome cash boost for equipment

FINANCIAL support has been awarded to eight community groups by charity ARISE West Lothian.

ARISE, the Alliance to Reward Initiatives and Social Enterprise, provides assistance to community activities that benefit the county, and has
distributed around £2560 to good causes.

Established in 2010, the project is backed by Land Securities, owners of The Centre, Livingston, which provides the funding given to good causes. Organisations that benefit will use the money to purchase equipment and material, such as new football gear for the Livingston Youth Foundation, darts shirts for West Lothian County Darts Association and chess sets for Livingston Village Chess Club and Ability Chess Club. West Calder Bowling Club has also gained an indoor bowling mat.

Howden Walled Garden Green Gym and West Lothian Financial Network are also amongst the beneficiaries.
