Come clean, urges MSP

Pentlands MSP Gordon Macdonald is backing a new campaign to clear Scotland of mess.

The Keep Scotland Beautiful charity is to launch its Clean Up Scotland initiative in January, aimed at encouraging a zero tolerance approach to the dumping of litter.

Mr Macdonald signed a pledge to support the drive, which aims to engage 1,000,000 people across the country.

He said: “I witnessed first-hand the difference individuals can make to communities when they come together to improve their area. I spent a day cleaning graffiti from the parade of shops at Broomhouse Market along with other volunteers. It was hard work but the difference it made to the shop fronts once cleaned and painted was unbelievable.”
