Coaching for footie stars of the future

Budding football stars are being urged to apply for places on a cutting-edge performance programme.

The SFA Performance School, open to primary seven pupils, is at Broughton High and will see young footballers put through their paces by some of Scotland’s top coaches.

Coaching will be led by Greg Miller, from the Scottish Football Association – supported by staff from Hearts and Hibs.

Councillor Paul Godzik, the city’s education leader, said: “This is a great initiative that gives the next generation of footballers the opportunity to be trained with experienced and dedicated SFA coaches.

“The first-class facilities at Broughton High School provide a fantastic base from which to nurture Scotland’s football stars of the future.”

The closing date for applications is February 1, with the first trials taking place a week later.
