City art show explores links with music

AN exhibition of artwork by musicians and artists with a musical connection is set to open at Edinburgh's Music Library next week.

Contributing artists to the Link exhibition, which will be on display at the George IV Bridge library for just under a fortnight in January, include Turner Prize nominee Jim Lambie, King Creosote, Gordon Anderson, Jenny Soep, Christian Ward, Little Pebble, Sean Dooley and Duglas T Stewart.

Running from 5 January, Link will culminate on 16 January with a finale evening of live music by Edinburgh-based art collective/experimental pop band Found and a charity auction of some of the artworks. All proceeds will go to Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy In Scotland.

Councillor Deidre Brock, the city's Culture Leader, said: "This fascinating exhibition will offer library-goers a welcome pause for reflection after the excitements of the festive season.

"All of the works on display will explore the links between music and art."

The Link exhibition runs from 5-16 January 2010 in the Music Library on George IV Bridge, Edinburgh, with a finale from 8pm on 16 January. Free entry.
