City council begins drive to recruit more foster carers
A DRIVE has been launched in the Capital to find more foster carers.
The Foster Me Foster Us campaign aims to help address a shortage of foster carers in Edinburgh, in particular those volunteers who would be willing to offer a home to disabled children.
Drop-in sessions are planned for April 18 and June 13 at the city council headquarters at Waverley Court, where foster care recruitment staff and carers will be on hand to meet potential carers and answer any questions between 5pm and 7pm.
Councillor Paul Godzik, children and families convener, said today: “We are asking potential carers to come forward and provide support so families can take a break once in a while and recharge their batteries.
“We have some fantastic carers who have had very positive experiences caring for children with disabilities and I would encourage anyone interested to take the opportunity to hear from them.”
