Church’s new Guild convenor from Capital

A RETIRED teacher from the Capital has been appointed as the new national convener of the Church of Scotland Guild’s national executive committee.

Marjorie Paton, from St Andrews Presbyterial Council, was born and educated in Edinburgh and taught children in secondary schools, primary schools and children with
special needs.

She is married to a retired minister and they have served parishes across the country, as well as a spell at St Andrews Jerusalem.

Mrs Paton said: “To be asked to be national convener of the Church of Scotland Guild is a great honour and privilege.

“I look forward to a year of hard work, challenge, and excitement in an organisation which is determined to grow in terms of commitment, spirituality and numbers.”
