The e escaped Ibis was spotted at Silverknowes

CHERRY the Ibis was causing a flap when it appeared at Silverknowes beach yesterday, as efforts to recapture the escaped animal continued.

The bird, which has been spotted across the city since escaping from its enclosure at Edinburgh Zoo on Tuesday, was happily posing for pictures with visitors to the beach. But zookeepers’ attempts to tempt the bird into netting with fishy treats continued to fail, and the zoo has now admitted it could take it weeks to recapture Cherry.
