Celtic manager Neil Lennon’s trial adjourned
CELTIC manager Neil Lennon has had his trial for allegedly using his mobile phone while driving adjourned.
Lennon allegedly committed the offence while driving along High Street in Glasgow on 26 July last year in his 4x4 Audi Q7.
The 41-year-old, from Glasgow’s west end, was not present at the city’s justice of the peace court yesterday when his case called, but was represented by Peter Malone.
The trial was due to take place next month but Mr Malone said: “There is a defence motion to adjourn the trial diet at this stage, the reason being further inquiries will require to be carried out on behalf of Mr Lennon.”
There was no opposition from the prosecution and a new trial date was set for May.
