CCTV images lead to arrest over mugging
POLICE today said they had arrested and charged a man following yesterday’s appeal in the Evening News using CCTV images of a man thought to have stalked and attacked a frail 89-year-old pensioner after watching him use an ATM machine.
A spokesman said: “Following our CCTV appeal to trace a male in connection with an assault and robbery in the Grange area, we have now arrested and charged a 48-year-old man. We thank the public for their assistance.”
The man was due to appear in court today.
