Cathedral to get clean-up

A GROUP of volunteers are to spend the summer working to preserve Scotland’s largest cathedral.

Charity Community Service Volunteers will send a team of 16-25-year-olds to the city’s St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral.

The helpers will polish spires, paint walls and ring the bells of the Gothic landmark.

Hannah Foxon, who will be heading up the St Mary’s team, said: “It is a fantastic chance to help preserve and maintain some of this country’s finest architecture while meeting new people and learning new skills.”
