Castle rock fall closes road

A ROCK fall from the Castle has forced the closure of Johnston Terrace.

A piece of rock described as being the size of a shoebox crashed down into the street at around 10pm last night, denting two vehicles and causing minor damage. No-one was injured. As a safety precaution, Johnston Terrace was closed to traffic and pedestrians.

It was not clear what had caused the rock fall and an assessment was due to be made today of the risk of any further falls.
