Cash boost for start-ups

SIX new companies established by students at Edinburgh University have landed £500,000 worth of investment from big names including Shell and Santander.

The six start-ups – AdvancetoGO, AdvertEyes, eoSurgical, Feusd, Social Artisan and MediCenDevis – were launched earlier this year through the university’s Accelerator Pipeline Programme, which helps postgraduate students and alumni turn their research ideas into businesses.

The programme is run by Edinburgh Research and Innovation’s LAUNCH.ed initiative.
