Capital set to shine at Scots style awards

A CLUTCH of Edinburgh bars, shops, restaurants and hotels are up for gongs at the Scotland's national style awards.

The Scottish Style Awards are to take place at a glitzy Hallowe'en event in Glasgow. And the Capital's hospitality sector is set to be well represented at the event.

Hotel Missoni, the new George VI Bridge art hotel designed by the Italian Missoni designer family, is up for the hotel category, alongside five other hotels including Hawke & Hunter on Picardy Place, whose pool lounge The Green Room is also up for an award in the venue category.

Designer lingerie brand Boudiche, based on Frederick Street, and fashion chain Mulberry, on Multrees Walk, will compete for the best boutique title.

Stockbridge's The Saint is the only Capital restaurant on the shortlist, while Broughton Street bar Treacle was the only city venue vying for the most stylish pub prize. High Street chains All Saints, H&M, River Island, Reiss, Schuh and Topshop will compete for the most stylish shop prize.

The awards take place at Glasgow's Fruitmarket on October 31.
