Capital chef Games ready

Michelin star chef Tom Kitchin is set to add a little
flavour to the Olympics – but at a tasty cost.

Kitchin, Scotland’s youngest Michelin star chef and patron of The Kitchin in Leith, is to set up shop in the Royal Festival Hall for a week, providing food for visitors to the Olympics as well as athletes.

At 5pm today he will host a Champagne reception for London Mayor, Boris Johnson, and 45 cultural heads of state.

The menus will feature the best of Scottish fare, but a plate will not come cheap at £175 per person for lunch, and £215 for dinner.

The food will be freshly ferried down to him every morning at 4am. Kitchin admitted he was “apprehensive but excited” to be chosen.

Kitchin is the only chef to be invited to cook at the Cube, on the top floor of Festival Hall.
