Capita to create 40 jobs in Moray

Outsourcing firm Capita is to create 40 new jobs in the Moray area.

The company last year announced 100 josb as they expand operations in Forres.

The roles range from customer services to senior management positions.

Fears about employment in Moray were raised when RAF Kinloss stopped functioning as an airbase in July last year.

Under the UK Government’s Strategic Defence and Security Review, the base will become an army barracks.

Moray MP Angus Robertson said: “Capita’s strong commitment to their operation in Forres is extremely important for the local economy, especially given the pressure placed on the Forres area by a major reduction in forces personnel at nearby Kinloss.

“The expansion of Capita’s activities in Forres is a welcome boost and will provide support for a wide range of local businesses through increased employment and spend.”

Capita employs more than 4,000 people in Scotland in businesses including life and pensions administration, property consultancy, IT services, recruitment and occupational health services, specialising in the oil and gas industry.

Capita Scotland chief executive Steve Langmead said: “The 140 new roles will mean that Capita now employ 300 people in Moray and over 500 in the north of Scotland.

“The high quality of people available in the north of Scotland, coupled with the excellent support we receive from the Scottish Government, is making this a very attractive area for continued expansion.”
