Cadet given castle honour
A YOUNG Edinburgh cadet led about 100 pipers and drummers in a Beating Retreat on Edinburgh Castle Esplanade.
David-John McIntosh, 16, who is a corporal in the Cadets' 18 Platoon, based in the city's East Claremont Street, and attends Holy Rood High School, was handed the honour on Saturday after being named top student on the Drum Majors' course at the cadets' annual week-long piping and drumming course held at Cameron Barracks, Inverness, during the Easter holidays.
