'Business as usual' despite parking strike
MOTORISTS are being reminded to take care over where they leave their cars, despite a strike by parking attendants set to go ahead tomorrow.
NSL, the company which provides Edinburgh's enforcers, said it would be "business as usual" even though around 80 per cent of attendants are expected to take part in the 24-hour walkout.
Spokesman Tim Cowen said: "The company has a contingency plan in place to ensure we have the correct level of service. We do not expect the public would see any difference in the service. The majority of Edinburgh drivers always take care to park their cars responsibly and we would urge all drivers to continue to do so.
"We are disappointed that some of our colleagues have decided to take industrial action."
Councillor Gordon Mackenzie, the city's transport convener added: "NSL have confirmed with us that restrictions will be enforced as normal and we would ask that drivers take the usual care when parking."
Around 80 per cent of the city's 120 enforcers will walk out on Wednesday and again on 2 July in an argument over pay.
