Bridge alert signs in place

SIGNS which warn drivers of disruption on the Forth Road Bridge are now up and running.

The electronic signs were the brainchild of a working group set up by the Forth Estuary Transport Authority (FETA) after a number of incidents in which drivers faced delays due to vehicles being blown over in high winds.

The signs will operate on the approach roads leading to the bridge and the crossing itself.

A FETA spokesman said: "We've had quite a lot of positive feedback about these signs so far. There is no doubt that they have made a difference."
