Breakthrough in murder case
POLICE have made a DNA breakthrough in a 25-year-old murder investigation, it was reported today.
Forensic scientists re-examined a sample from murdered mum-of-two Sheila Anderson, 27, a prostitute killed in Leith in 1983.
Police will now be able to trace the killer if he or even a male relative is arrested.
A police source said today: "We are another step closer to solving this horrific murder."
Ms Anderson was found dead on April 7, 1983, at Gypsy Brae, Granton, after being thrown from a car and crushed by its wheels.
