Boys charged with school sex assault

TWO boys, aged ten and eleven, have been charged in connection with allegations that an 11-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in the playground of an Aberdeen primary school.

The girl was allegedly assaulted on Monday 25 June.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said: “A report will be sent to the relevant authority in due course.”

A spokeswoman for Aberdeen City Council said: “We can confirm an internal investigation by the council is ongoing.”

Meanwhile, Tayside Police have appealed for the public’s help in tracing a man who brandished a knife at a 15-year-old boy in Chalmers Street, Arbroath, on Monday afternoon.

A police spokesman said: “The male responsible is described as being around 40 years old, 6ft tall, stocky build with dark-coloured sideburns.”
