Boys' Brigade leader jailed for child porn
A BOYS' BRIGADE leader caught with 30,000 indecent images of children on his computer was jailed for 20 months yesterday.
Ross McKinnon, 33, captain of the 5th Grangemouth Company of the Boys' Brigade, was caught after a joint operation between Scottish police and the FBI.
Agents in Los Angeles investigating a website were able to trace thousands of people who had logged on and exchanged files. McKinnon's details were passed to police in the UK.
Officers from Central Scotland's computer-crime unit raided McKinnon's Falkirk home and found 31,129 indecent images on his computer. At Fal- kirk Sheriff Court in August, he pleaded guilty to possessing and distributing child porn between November 2005 and August 2006.
Yesterday he was given an extended sentence of 35 months - 20 months in jail and 15 months on licence - and put on the sex offenders' register for ten years.
