Boy killed in window fall is named

THE three-year-old boy who died after falling from a top- floor window in a block of
flats was named yesterday by police.

Rhys Alexander died at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee after suffering serious head
injuries as a result of the accident on Friday. His family, who had just brought home their new baby daughter, are said to be devastated at their loss. It is believed Rhys had an older
sister.

Tayside Police said a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal, as with all sudden deaths in Scotland, though it is understood to have been treated by officers as a tragic
accident.

Neighbour Alan Ross, an SNP councillor for Lochee, who lives directly below the Alexander family’s flat in the three-storey building on Denhead Crescent, said on Friday that everyone in the area had been “devastated” by what happened.
