Boxer in court over tax bill
FORMER world boxing champion Scott Harrison was given time yesterday to try to fight off the taxman.
Harrison could be declared bankrupt if he does not settle a tax bill of more than 83,000, and the Court of Session heard he was intending to sell property to raise the money. He owns homes in Glasgow and Spain.
HM Revenue and Customs agreed to a ten-week continuation, in the hope that the sale would go through.
The bankruptcy case is one of several court proceedings featuring the troubled former featherweight champion. He has been charged in the criminal courts in Scotland and Spain with offences including assault, breach of the peace, attempted theft and possession of drugs.
