Boxer bailed on drug charge
SCOTT Harrison, the former boxing world champion, appeared in court yesterday charged with possessing drugs.
The 29-year-old, from Cambuslang, was arrested in Glasgow on Tuesday night.
At the city's sheriff court, he denied possessing the class C drug Valium and another charge of assault from July last year.
He was released on bail and caught a flight to Malaga, Spain, where he is due today to face charges of assault and the attempted theft of a car.
Harrison's manager, Barry Hughes, said after the short appearance: "I am just very grateful to the court to give Scott the opportunity to go to Spain and sort things out there.
