Boxer Alex joins mini-Olympians

BOXER Alex Arthur joined more than 100 people from West Pilton as residents staged their own mini-Olympics.

Housing association Castle Rock Edinvar held the event as part of a project aimed at bringing sport to people’s doorsteps.

Organisations such as Dancebase, Fencing is Fun, Lovell and the Pilton Youth and Children’s Project (PYCP) provided various sports events.

Alex said: “I met some great local people and was so impressed by the centre and what the PYCP do for the kids in the area. What was on offer on the day was brilliant.

“What impressed me the most was all the fruit for the kids. It is so important for kids to have healthy food.”

Shelley Hutton, business support manager at Castle Rock Edinvar, said: “It was a wonderful family event, with a real sporting atmosphere.”
