Botanics is given a high five award

THE Royal Botanic Garden has won five-star status as a
tourism attraction.

It has become only the
second garden in Scotland to receive the prestigious accolade from VisitScotland.

Auditors from the tourism organisation made repeat visits to the grounds to assess it under a demanding quality assurance scheme, before making the presentation.

Paul Mitchell, director of Sodexo Prestige, which is contracted to run hospitality and catering services at the garden, said: “This is a tremendous accolade for everyone involved in making the garden a wonderful experience for our visitors. We are delighted to have played our part.”

VisitScotland chairman Mike Cantlay added: “The five-star award denotes world-class status and is testament to the hard work by all staff and the ongoing investment that has made the Royal Botanic Garden what it is today.”
