Boss ‘was like Elephant Man’

A HAULAGE boss was so badly hurt just days before his death that he looked like the Elephant Man, a trial has heard.

Driver and mechanic Brian Burns, 41, told the High Court in Edinburgh his employer Alexander Ormiston’s face was “all black and blue” when he turned up to work.

He added: “He was just staring into space.”

The trial also heard that Mr Ormiston was proprietor of Ormiston Transport based at Leith Docks.

Brian Kennedy, 31, of Myres Drive, Glenrothes, Fife, is one of three men accused of killing Mr Ormiston, 63, in May last year. Kennedy, Paul Breslin, 41, of Carberry Court, Whitecraig, Musselburgh, East Lothian, and Ian Oliver, 26, who is appearing from custody, deny culpable homicide. The trial continues.
