Bootleg film festival set to roll in city

A MAJOR independent film festival based in the Capital has unveiled its programme for this year’s event.

The 2013 Bootleg Film Festival will feature new work by a range of independent film-makers from the UK and overseas.

Autumn Wanderer, Nathan Sutton’s hard-hitting exploration of schizophrenia, and Extra Time – Craig-James Moncur’s football drama – are among the films which will screen in the Banshee Labyrinth over three days from March 22.

Creative director Neil Rolland said: “It has been a joy to programme.

“Bootleg has always been about celebrating and showcasing film-makers and their films.

“It’s never been about ego, it’s never been about pretension and it’s most certainly never been about using people to get what you want.

“We celebrate those who do, those who persist, those who learn, those who have made 100 short films before they made a good one.”
