Bond spreads the Tattoo's word
SIR Sean Connery has offered to help one of Scotland's most prestigious events – by providing the voice-over for a new TV advert.
The veteran Hollywood actor, who retired from film work three years ago, has agreed to front a new campaign for the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
The 79-year-old James Bond star's voice will feature in adverts for the Tattoo's new DVD, which features all the best moments from this year's sell-out show from Edinburgh Castle's Esplanade.
It is hoped Sir Sean's backing will also help boost early ticket sales for the event when the box office opens next month. The 30-second advert, which will be shown throughout central Scotland, will launch on 23 November and run for several weeks.
Last year, Sir Sean was one of several big-name Scots to feature on the TV advert to promote Scotland's Year of Homecoming celebrations.
Major-General Euan Loudon, the Tattoo's chief executive and producer, said: "We are delighted that Sir Sean has generously agreed to help support our activities, which we hope will in turn also further strengthen our charitable endeavours."
